Frank Clark, Former Executive Vice President and Director of Johnson and Johnson's Medical Electronics Division, Former Vice President and Director Ethicon, Inc., Former President and Director of R.P. Scherer Worldwide Markets (Sarasota, FL)

Frank Clark, a former officer and director of several health care companies, currently consults with a variety of companies, focusing on startups and company turn-arounds. Mr. Clark was Executive Vice President and a Director of Johnson and Johnson’s Medical Electronics ventures. He formed Ethnor Medical, an Ethicon Subsidiary, and served as its Vice President and General Manager until merging the division with a major Johnson and Johnson company. Prior to this startup, Mr. Clark served as Vice President and Director of Ethicon Inc., the leading wound closure company. He subsequently joined R.P. Scherer, Inc. as President and Director of the corporation’s worldwide businesses. He established the corporation’s presence in the Far East while enhancing Scherer’s Markets in Europe and North and South America. Mr. Clark joined National Medical Care as Vice President, leaving to become Senior Partner of Van Nuis, Mullin, and Van Vrankin. He subsequently joined RMC and served as managing principal for their Southern California interests. Mr. Clark served on the corporation’s Management Advisory Committee, is a Director of several companies, and has been instrumental in acquiring, developing, and marketing products and services in the health and consumer goods sectors. Acknowledged as a superior group motivator, he has established a significant record of new business startups and company turn-arounds. He actively counsels numerous businesses and has appeared on national radio and television.

Micheal Cole, M.B.A. Former President of Sten+Barr Medical, Inc., Founder and Former CEO of Chamberlain Funding Group, Inc., Founder and Former President of R.J. Leasing (Callao, VA)

Micheal Cole, M.B.A. earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering at the University of Maryland and M.B.A. at Harvard University Business School. Mr. Cole served as Vice President of the Medical Division at Concept, Inc. until founding and serving as President of American Home Medical for two years. He subsequently joined Raymond James Financial, Inc. where he was appointed Managing Director and Senior Partner in the Investment Banking Group. In this role, Mr. Cole focused on full service investment banking service (aided in generating venture capital funding, mezzanine debt financing, and initial and secondary public offerings) to early stage and mid-stage healthcare companies. In addition to his role as Managing Director, Mr. Cole also founded and served as President of R.J. Leasing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial. He was responsible for the overall management of $110 million invested in 13 public and four private partnerships holding investment equipment valuing in excess of $250 million.

In 1994, Mr. Cole was the founder and CEO of the Chamberlain Funding Group, Inc. a NASD-registered investment bank. He also worked as the Director of a Department of Energy-funded Venture Capital Innovations and Commercialization Program. Most recently, Mr. Cole served as President of Sten+Barr Medical, Inc., guiding the company through a transitional period and eventual sale.

Robert Dressler, Sc.D. Former Managing Director, Corporate Finance Department, Raymond James Financial, Inc. (Tampa, FL)

Robert Dressler, Sc.D. earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University and received his honorary Doctor of Science, Sc.D., from the University of South Florida. Dr. Dressler served in the United States Navy during World War II and following the war was involved in significant electronic research in color television, military electronics, and aircraft and satellite reconnaissance for the intelligence community and Department of Defense. In this work, he served as President and CEO of Autometric Corporation, a company doing the research and analytical work for the above programs. The company grew rapidly and because of the nature of its work was purchased by Raytheon Corporation. At Raytheon, Dr. Dressler rose to the position of Director of Advanced Systems, overseeing company-wide Research and Development for these programs.

In 1973, Dr. Dressler joined Crown Industries and participated in the ownership of this small Florida building materials manufacturer as President and CEO. The business plan was to automate the companies' manufacturing capabilities, a technology learned in the government programs and not heavily used in manufacturing at that time. The company reached sales in excess of $100 million and was purchased by Florida Progress in 1985. After a two-year transition period with Florida Progress, Dr. Dressler joined Raymond James and Associates in July 1987 and served as a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance Department for 20 years. Dr. Dressler served on the Board of Directors of Raymond James Financial from 1983 to 1987.

Michael W. Fountain, Ph.D., M.B.A. currently serves as the Founding Director of the University of South Florida's university-wide Center for Entrepreneurship, which delivers both the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and the Master of Science Degree in Entrepreneurship in Applied Technologies. He holds faculty appointments across the Colleges of Business, Medicine, and Engineering. Under Dr. Fountain's direction, the Center for Entrepreneurship has developed national and international prominence as evidenced by top national awards in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and the number 9 ranking by Princeton Review of graduate entrepreneurship education programs in 2007. He currently serves on the advisory boards of Intezyne Technologies Inc., Darkstar Information Services, STAR TEC, Nanopharma DDS, DocuVantage, and Youth Empowered to Achieve. On a national level, he is the Director of the National Consortium for Life Sciences Entrepreneurship and a past board member for the Kauffman Center for Venture Education. Dr. Fountain is also a past Entrepreneur in Residence at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, serving as a strategist in the area of Life Sciences Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Fountain has focused the past twenty-five years on creating, financing, growing, and harvesting biotechnology, medical device, and life science companies. In his career prior to coming to USF, Dr. Fountain founded or co-founded seven new ventures, three of which became publicly traded companies. During his corporate career, he served in a variety of leadership roles including Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board. Dr. Fountain was a pioneer in the field of development and application of the use of phospholipids in micro- and nanoparticle technologies for drug encapsulation. He has successfully patented and commercialized numerous innovative medical and diagnostic products for the domestic and international marketplace, including sustained release anti-cancer drugs, genetically-engineered diagnostic products for autoimmune diseases, microencapsulated dermatologic products, and advanced subunit vaccine products for prevention human and animal infectious diseases.

Dr. Fountain received his Honors B.S. from Samford University, his M.S. and Ph.D. from Auburn University, and his M.B.A. from Bristol University. In addition, he completed advanced studies in Education Theory at the University of South Florida.

James S. Trotman, M.D. Former Chairman of IsoTis SA, IsoTis Inc., Founder of GenSci Regeneration Sciences, Inc. and BioColl Medical Corp. (Blaine, WA and Phoenix, AZ)

James S. Trotman, M.D. is a founder of GenSci Regeneration Sciences, Inc. and BioColl Medical Corp, a North American biotechnology leader in the repair and regeneration of human bone and soft tissue. Dr. Trotman was instrumental in the completed merger of GenSci Orthobiologics with IsoTis SA of Lausanne, Switzerland and served as Chairman of the Swiss parent company IsoTis SA. The Company became IsoTis Inc. with the 2007 NASDAQ listing and was sold in Oct. 2007 to Integra Life Sciences. As a founder and early CEO and President, Dr. Trotman contributed to the development and growth of GenSci and IsoTis into one of this highly specialized industry's most promising companies. With over 120 employees, the bioimplants and medical devices developed by GenSci Orthobiologics have been used in over 400,000 patients in 1,600 hospitals throughout North America and in over 35 countries. IsoTis was publicly traded on the Swiss Exchange, Euronext in Amsterdam, and Toronto Stock Exchange prior to the listing on NASDAQ. In 2006, the company reported revenues of over $40 million US.

Dr. Trotman has also served and is currently a director and consultant to other biotechnology companies in the field of medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceutical development, and stem cell storage. He has been a Director of nine reporting companies listed on TSX, CDNX, Amex, and NASDAQ as well as several private companies. He is currently a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors of Washington D.C.

Prior to establishing BioColl Medical and GenSci Regeneration, Dr. Trotman practiced as a physician, surgeon, and medical administrator for over 25 years. As an active community member, he has received the Award of Merit from the Government of Canada and the Award of Recognition from the Delta Municipality Society of British Columbia. He remains a member of the Canadian Medical Association. Dr. Trotman received a B.A. from McMaster University, M.D. from the University of Toronto, and Certification from the College of Family Practice of Canada.
